Whether you’re a political junkie or not, it’s difficult to deny that the 2008 Presidential Election will be one for the history books. OK — I suppose all presidential races make their way into the history books, but Obama vs McCain will be one of the hottest races that we’ve seen in a long time.Tapping into the political zeitgeist, and springboarding off the success our first My ooVoo Day program, we’re proud to announce My ooVoo Day With… Political Edition.
(Y’all know that ooVoo is a crayon client, but in the interest of full disclosure I figured I’d mention it anyway.)
Beginning next week — and running through early August — ooVoo will enable a series of multi-person video chats, hosted by 25 or so political pundits, bloggers and online commentators. The hosts represent the conservative and liberal camps (and everything in between), and will tackle a wide variety of election year topics — so no matter where you fall on the political spectrum or what issues get you riled up, there’s bound to be a conversation that will spark your interest.
Check out the host profiles and schedules at the My ooVoo Day site, sign up for some of the 6-person chats, and while you’re at it be sure to download ooVoo if you aren’t already a subscriber. Let’s caucus!
Visit ooVoo’s YouTube channel to watch an ooVoo video message to learn more about MoDW Political Edition — as explained by ooVoo CEO Philippe Schwartz and and marketing maven Philip Robertson. While you’re at it, be sure to show your support and meet other participants on Facebook (My ooVoo Day Event, My ooVoo Day Fan Page.)

Things have been so hectic lately that I've even forgotten how to blog. I feel like I'm going back to the original infant roots of blogging: "Dear Diary......"
One thing I wanted to do was share the announcement of a few changes at crayon.
To begin, we said bon voyage to the one and only Consigliere, Mr W. Scott Monty (he claims George Jr stole the W from him), who exchanged the heavenly snow-laded pathways of Maynard, MA for a phenomenal opportunity heading up Ford Motor Co.'s social media efforts. We wish him only the best with this corporate challenge and remind Maggie Fox and Geoff Livingston to sleep with one eye open

I’m back at work after a great PodCamp Boston 3 weekend. On Saturday, I shared the floor with Philip Robertson, Doug Haslam and Adam Broitman for a panel discussion/open conversation about Smart Social Media Marketing.
Qik lifestreamer Len Edgerly captured most of the hour+ session on video. The audio is a bit dodgy but if you’re interested in getting a sense of how it went and what we discussed, check out Part 1 and Part 2.

The panelists, left to right: Philip, Doug, Adam and me. That’s Len shooting the video in the lower righthand corner. Check out Flickr for the rest of my photos from the weekend.

The third iteration of PodCamp Boston rolls into town (’town’ being Boston, of course) on July 18th, 19th and 20th — just a week and a half from now. crayon client ooVoo is a PCB sponsor and would like to pay your way into the event.
They only have 20 PodCamp ’scholarships’ to give away and, of course, you’ll need to meet some simple criteria:
- You need to be a college student and have the .edu email address to prove it.
- You need to have or sign up for ooVoo’s multi-person online video chat service (ooVoo Standard is free.)
- You need to be one of the first 20 people who meets the criteria to email us at ooVoo@crayonville.com with all the pertinent information.
Recipients will need to cover their own travel expenses but with PCB tickets selling for $50 a pop, this is a great opportunity to hear lots of fantastic presentations and make lots of social media friends while saving a few bucks.
Sound interesting? Of course, it does.
Check out the ooVoo blog for all the details.
If you’re a student, we hope you’ll give it a shot and see if you’re one of the lucky 20. If you know students who might be interested, we hope you’ll help us spread the word.
